Course Description6th Grade U.S. History IISixth grade covers U.S. history, from the Constitution (1787) to the present. The information includes the Federalist Era, Manifest Destiny, the Civil War, the U.S. becomes a world power, World Wars, Cold War, Civil Rights and the Modern Era. The course also includes map, graph and chart reading skills. Tests and quizzes are supplemented by oral and visual projects including group projects. Finally, analysis skills are developed using essays, primary sources, and music.
7th Grade World CivilizationsThe 7th grade curriculum covers the very beginning of man including the earliest cities and technology. From there the major civilizations are studied in depth such as China, Egypt, Mesopotamia and India. Later chapters cover Greece, Rome, Islam, Europe’s rise of Nations, Central America and Japan. The course also offers and introduction to Geography including land types, land use and political maps memorization of countries and geographical features. The course also includes map, graph and chart reading skills Tests and quizzes are supplemented by oral and visual projects including group projects. Finally analysis skills are developed using essays. Primary sources and biographical studies are also covered.
8th Grade Civics8th Grade covers the basic introduction to Civics including the formation of the U.S. government, the election process, political parties, the three branches of government, and local and state government. The course also includes map, graph and chart reading skills Tests and quizzes are supplemented by oral and visual projects including group projects. Finally, analysis skills are developed using essays.
