Course Description6th grade ScienceStudents in grade 6 begin looking at minerals and rock formations. They progress through plate movements, volcanoes, and earthquakes. Students will also study man and the effect we have on our environment. Eventually, students will explore the solar system and the vastness of God’s creation. All of these areas are explored through class discussions and weekly laboratory experiments. 7th grade ScienceStudents in the 7th grade study Life Science. We begin with creation and look at characteristics of all living things. The orchestration of the Creator is clearly seen in the complexity of a single cell all the way to the human body. Weekly laboratory experiments and other hands-on experiences allow the students to investigate life. 8th grade SciencePhysical Science is taught in 8th grade. Students learn basic chemistry for the first part of the year. From the periodic table to identifying types of solutions, students learn through experimentation. Physics is covered during the second part of the year. Hands on activities allow the students to process information and apply the laws of physics.
